The residents need to book a slot online to drop off their used tires. There will be 40 registration slots each day at 15-minute intervals. The slots will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a limit of 50 tires per day per customer. Also, there will be a fee of 15 cents per pound. Cash payment is preferred. The use of cards will incur a convenience fee.

The event will accept lawn and garden tires, car and truck tires, agricultural, tractor-trailer and racing tires and tires on rims and tubes. However, shredded tires and tire pieces or tires filled with mud and debris will not be accepted.

The county press release noted that improperly disposed of tires can leach toxic chemicals, thus contaminating soil and water. In addition to posing fire hazard, they also become breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
