SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Town of Perinton will host a free drive-thru shredding and electronics recycling event for its residents this fall, announced Perinton Town Clerk Janelle Reed. The event is part of efforts by the authorities to bring more recycling services closer to home.
The Department of Public Works, located at 100 Cobb's Lane, Fairport, NY, will host the event on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Prior appointments are required for participation, and they can be made online right now.

Computers, TVs, printers, phones, mouse, and any other abandoned electronics will be accepted during the event. In collaboration with a nearby e-waste company, EWaste+, the gathered goods will be appropriately recycled. Additionally, a qualified and accredited document destruction provider, Shred-Text, will be present to shred papers on-site. There shouldn't be more than four or five boxes of paper per car. Paper clips and staples don't have to be taken out.
Reed noted that residents have been demanding a secure way to dispose of sensitive documents. This free event makes it easier for residents to safely shred confidential paperwork. By partnering with Perinton DPW, this year’s event has added free electronics recycling, Reed noted.
