City of Dunwoody to Host Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Dunwoody, Georgia will host a free household hazardous waste recycling event next month. The 2025 event is scheduled to be held in the parking lot at Dunwoody City Hall at 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Rd. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m on Saturday, September 13th.

Residents of Dunwoody can now sign up for the event and choose a time that works best for them to be dropped off. Only city dwellers are permitted to attend. They must attend the event with proof of residency. The amount that each consumer can dispose of will be limited. Additionally, business clients are not permitted to attend the event.

Last year, 473 residents participated in a similar household hazardous trash recycling program. According to a city news release, the event recycled 304 fire extinguishers, 1,144 pounds of motor oil, 4,62 fluorescent bulbs, 16,500 pounds of latex paint, and 3,567 pounds of pesticides.

Oil and latex paints, stains, paint thinner, motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline, diesel, household cleansers, pool chemicals, household chemicals, pesticides, flammables, and corrosives are just a few of the many goods that will be accepted at this year's event.

According to Dunwoody Community Development Director Richard McLeod, the event is essential in assisting locals in properly disposing of dangerous waste.
