APR Opens Nominations for 2027 Recycling Leadership Awards
The third annual awards will recognize achievements in plastics recycling leadership, processing, package design and post-consumer recycled content utilization, with nominations open through December 31.
MONTREAL (RecyclingMonster): The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) has opened nominations for the third annual APR Recycling Leadership Awards, which recognize individuals and organizations for achievements in plastics recycling.
Winners will be announced during the 2027 Plastics Recycling Conference (PRC), which will be held concurrently with the Resource Recycling Conference and Textile Recovery Summit. The three events are scheduled for March 1–3, 2027, at the Gaylord National in National Harbor, Maryland.
Recipients will join previous APR Recycling Leadership Award winners and receive national industry recognition, exposure to more than 2,000 PRC attendees and an opportunity to showcase their work at the trade show.
Four Award Categories Recognize Plastics Recycling Achievements
The 2027 APR Recycling Leadership Awards include four categories recognizing achievements by individuals, processors and companies working across plastics recycling and packaging:
- Outstanding Leadership: Celebrating individuals going above and beyond to adopt recyclable packaging within their field.
- Processor of the Year: Honoring a material recovery facility (MRF) or reclaimer making significant strides to improve plastics recycling.
- Package Design Innovation: Recognizing materials and packages that are helping advance the future of recycling.
- Post-Consumer Recycled Content Utilization: Recognizing companies demonstrating significant commitments to the use of post-consumer recycled content.
APR Cites Leadership and Innovation Across Plastics Value Chain

The deadline for nominations is Thursday, December 31, 2026. Both self-nominations and nominations of others are accepted.
APR membership is not required to submit a nomination or to be nominated for a Recycling Leadership Award.
