NWRA Opens 2027 Hall of Fame Nominations; Deadline Dec. 4
The National Waste & Recycling Association is accepting nominations for its highest individual honor, recognizing waste and recycling leaders with at least 25 years of industry contributions.
MONTREAL (RecyclingMonster): The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) has opened nominations for its 2027 Hall of Fame, the association's highest individual honor for leaders in the waste and recycling industry.
Candidates are considered based on their long-term contributions to the sector, with at least 25 years of industry involvement required as part of the judging criteria. NWRA also considers industry recognition, personal values, leadership and service to the association and its chapters.
The Class of 2027 will join 220 Hall of Fame inductees recognized between 1986 and 2026.
New Recommendation-Letter Rules Apply for 2027
This year's nomination process includes revised requirements for recommendation letters. The Hall of Fame Committee will review no more than five recommendation letters for each candidate, and each individual may submit only one letter for one candidate during the application year.
If more than five recommendation letters are submitted for a candidate, only the first five received will be reviewed.
NWRA President and CEO Michael E. Hoffman said the annual recognition honors individuals whose careers have contributed to the progress of the waste and recycling industry.
Applications Due December 4
Completed applications and recommendation letters must be submitted through NWRA's online nomination process by December 4, 2026.
The Class of 2027 will be formally recognized at the NWRA Annual Awards Gala on May 3, 2027, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas during WasteExpo.
