The Interlock Partners with eWaste ePlanet for Free Drop-Off Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Interlock district in West Midtown, Atlanta announced that it will partner with private company eWaste ePlanet to host free drop-off event for used electronics.

The event will be held Jan. 25 - 26 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Jan. 27 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at G1 of the parking deck at The Interlock. The electronic items collected during the event will be responsibly recycled by eWaste ePlanet.

The acceptable items include monitors, desktops, laptops, smartphones, tablets, keyboards, mice servers, networking gear, circuit boards, RAM and CPU, wires and cables, hard drives and memory cards, digital cameras, GPS units, speakers, ink & toner, scanners, projectors, game consoles, phone systems, lab & medical equipment, point of sale systems and barcode scanners.

Other items will also be accepted, but may require an additional fee. For instance, CRT televisions and monitors will be accepted at fee of $0.40 per Lb. The fee for other items is as follows: Printers & copiers-$0.15 per Lb, LCD televisions-$0.25/Lb, Media discs & tapes-$1.50 per Lb, Alkaline batteries-$1 per Lb and Microwaves-$10 each.

The event will not accept items such as cracked LCD televisions and monitors, broken or bare CRT televisions and monitors, light bulbs, wood-cased speakers, radioactive materials, hazardous waste, liquids and paints.
