SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Battery Network significantly expanded its battery recycling efforts across the U.S. in 2025. It collected a record 9.3 million pounds of used batteriesduring the year.
According to its 2025 Impact Report, household battery recycling remained the largest contributor, accounting for 9.2 million pounds of the total volume. This included 6.4 million pounds of rechargeable batteries and 2.8 million pounds of single-use batteries.

A recently launched collection initiative for high-energy batteries recovered more than 60,000 pounds through over 1,800 collection sites. Meanwhile, its nationwide e-bike battery recycling program collected approximately 50,000 pounds, significantly higher by 14% compared to the previous year.
During 2025, The Battery Network added 3,195 new collection sites, bringing its nationwide network to more than 20,000 locations. As a result, nearly 80% of Americans now live within 15 miles of a household battery recycling drop-off point.
During the year, The Battery Network was engaged in various public education campaigns aimed at promoting safe battery disposal. Also, it partnered with industry partners and schools to raise awareness about battery recycling and fire prevention.
The organization noted that its responsibilities now extend beyond collection to include producer responsibility programs, transportation services, business partnerships, and recycling operations.
