The facility will have capacity to process up to 600,000 servers every year, thus meeting the rising demand for ITAD services in the North American region.

The opening of the new facility aligns with the robust growth forecasts of ITAD and e-waste recycling markets over the coming years. For instance, Allied Market Research predicts surge in e-waste and ITAD markets from $50 billion in 2020 to $144 billion by 2028. Also, Global Market Insights forecasts significant market growth from $14.5 billion in 2022 to $31.4 billion by 2032.

Cho Jae-yeon, managing director of SK Ecoplant Environment Business Unit stated that the priority of the company is to capture the North American market, which accounts for nearly 40% of the global ITAD volume.

SK tes aims to boost its annual server processing capacity to 1 million by 2026, by expanding into potential markets.
