Ripple Glass Collaborates with Owens Corning on Glass Recycling Program


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Glass recycler Ripple Glass has collaborated with Owens Corning on glass recycling program. The program aims to give a second life to glass items, which are generally not accepted at curbside.

Laura Hennemann, SVP, sustainability and corporate affairs at Ripple Glass announced that the first Ripple Glass – Owens Corning sponsored collection bin has been launched at the non-profit CHaRM / Live Thrive in Atlanta.

The company will organize various glass recycling events. A social media campaign will be held in support of the collection program. The purple-coloured bin will move around the metro area for the community to see. A glass recycling pop-up event will be held in future. It must be noted that Ripple Glass had recently expanded their glass recycling program in Atlanta. The company now collects over 1.6 million pounds of glass every week across the U.S.

Eric Miller, marketing leader, Owens Corning – Home Center noted that the company is proud to work with Ripple Glass on this exciting recycling effort.

Georgia has been witnessing huge market demand for recycled glass, especially from fiberglass insulation companies. Recycled glass has been widely used in the production of new fiberglass insulation.
