Republic Services to Begin Trash and Recycling Service on Feb. 1

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Town of Prosper will have new trash and recycling service provider starting this February. It has entered into a contract with Republic Services, which will be in effect from 1 February, 2024.

Each residence will be supplied with a 95-gallon gray trash cart and a 95-gallon green recycling cart, which will be similar to the existing carts. The personal trash carts and old CWD carts will not be serviced by Republic Services beginning that date. Meantime, CWD will continue to provide trash and recycling pickups on regular collection days until end-January.

CWD will start picking up and remove trash and recycle cart during the period from 15th January to 22nd January, 2024. The city will replace them with gray trash cart and green recycling cart on the same day. The transition will run through January 24, 2024.

Residents are urged to place all CWD full and empty carts out during the scheduled transition period by 7 a.m. If unable to set out your carts during your exchange day, kindly ask a neighbor or have carts out before your exchange date. No citations will be made during the transition period.

The scheduled collection days for trash and recycling will remain unchanged, the city press release noted.
