Republic Services Opened Recycling Learning Center at Seattle Facility


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Republic Services, Inc. announced opening of recycling education center at the company's recycling facility in Seattle. This is the only recycling learning center in the entire region. The center aims to educate the community on proper recycling habits and provides insights into the recycling technology used for processing various materials.

The center will feature educational displays that showcase recycling facts and best practices. The other features include guided tours by recycling experts to visitors who are interested in learning the various processes involved in recycling materials. It offers a virtual view of the recycling center’s operations.

Ryan Lawler, area president, Republic Services noted that the company shares the Puget Sound region's strong commitment to sustainability and the environment. The company is proud to share its expertise through the Seattle Learning Center. Education plays a key role in the effectiveness of recycling programs, he added.

The Seattle facility is one of the largest facilities of the company. The facility has a processing capability of around 200,000 tons of recyclables every year. Across its 71 facilities throughout the country, the company processes nearly 5 million tons of recyclable materials per year.
