SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Republic Services, Inc. has been recognized for the fifth time as one of Fortune’s 2026 World’s Most Admired Companies, underscoring the company’s strong performance, ethical leadership, and long-term growth strategy. The waste and recycling services provider earned high scores across key categories, including social responsibility, innovation, quality of management, financial soundness, and long-term investment value.
Jon Vander Ark, President and Chief Executive Officer of Republic Services, credited the company’s workforce for the achievement. He said the recognition reflects the dedication of its 42,000 employees who consistently deliver essential services while advancing sustainability initiatives and operational excellence across communities served.

The annual ranking is based on a comprehensive corporate reputation survey conducted by Fortune in partnership with global organizational consulting firm Korn Ferry. Approximately 1,500 companies were evaluated across nine reputation criteria, including management effectiveness, product and service quality, social responsibility, investment value, and talent attraction. The results incorporate feedback from senior executives, directors, and financial analysts.
In addition to this honor, Republic Services was named for the seventh time to Ethisphere’s World’s Most Ethical Companies list and earned Great Place to Work certification for the ninth consecutive year, highlighting its commitment to integrity, workplace culture, and sustainable business practices.
