New Southern Saskatchewan Tire Recycling Facility to be Operational in Early-2023

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The proposed new tire recycling facility in the City of Moose Jaw in southern Saskatchewan is expected to be operational by early next year. The facility is being built by CRM in partnership with the Tire Stewardship of Saskatchewan (TSS).

Earlier in 2021, TSS had called for collaboration to set up a facility to offer tire recycling services to the Southern region of the province. It has received several applications, including the one from CRM, who responded with a detailed business plan. Furthermore, it had expressed willingness to invest in the project.

Stevyn Arnt, CEO, TSS noted that it is highly excited about the market expertise and technology utilized by CRM. The facility will produce high-value products including Rubber Modified Asphalt (RMA), which is 100% recyclable and can be reused on the roadway several times.

TSS will ensure delivery of all scrap tires from southern Saskatchewan region into the facility for processing. The main purpose of the facility is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in connection with processing of scrap tires, thus contributing to a greener economy. The facility is expected to create a number of upstream and downstream job opportunities in the region.
