SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Madison County Department of Solid Waste announced that a free document shredding event will be held for its residents on Saturday, September 30, 2023 9AM to 12 Noon in Hamilton.
Residents are allowed to bring a maximum of four filing boxes of personal and confidential documents, such as medical documents or papers containing critical information such as bank accounts, tax details and similar private data. The documents should be loose in boxes or paper bags and easily available for collection from the back of the vehicle. The boxes will be returned. Meantime, the Department notice urged residents not to bring the materials in plastic bags.

The event will not accept magazines, junk mail, phone books, or photographs. Also, this will be strictly a residential event and hence no business waste will be accepted.
The Department also runs a free electronic waste recycling program for its residents. The unwanted electronics, including computers and TVs could be dropped off at LOJO Technology located at 634 Birchwood Drive in Oneida on Mondays to Fridays 8AM to 3PM throughout the year.
In addition, they can also participate in the quarterly Saturday collection events hosted by LOJO Technology. The next collection event is scheduled on October 14th, 2023 9AM to 1PM.
