LRS Released 2024 Sustainability Report


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): LRS, the leading independent recycling and waste service provider, released its 2024 Sustainability Report. The report illustrates the company’s commitment to transparency, innovation and its customers.

According to the annual report, the company expanded beyond its Chicago roots to states throughout the Midwest.

LRS diverted over fifteen different types of materials including paper, cardboard, cartons, plastic, glass, metal, wood, shingles, food waste, and concrete. In 2024, it diverted 107,269 tons of paper, cardboard, and cartons, 57,060 tons of brick, concrete, and aggregate, 47,730 tons of construction materials, 30,827 tons of glass, 30,254 tons of metals, 25,257 tons of shingles, 24,786 tons of wood and 13,259 tons of plastic.

The report noted that more than 100 of its employees are OSHA 10 certified. It held as many as more than 70 safety meetings with field staff and executive leadership. The company achieved 45% reduction in total recordable incident rate (TRIR), 68% reduction in lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) and 39% reduction in accident frequency rate (AFR) from 2023 to 2024, said the report.

LRS increased its Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) score by 31% from its 2023 submission, reflecting its exemplary ESG performance.
