Lewis County Offers Free Paint Recycling Sept. 19
Households and businesses can bring eligible leftover paint and architectural coatings to the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds in Centralia for free recycling through a Lewis County partnership with GreenSheen Paint.

MONTREAL (RecyclingMonster): Lewis County, Washington, is partnering with GreenSheen Paint and the Southwest Washington Fair to offer a free paint recycling event on Saturday, September 19.
The drive-through collection will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the south parking lot next to the Blue Pavilion at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds, 1909 S. Gold Street, Centralia, WA 98531.
The event is open to residential and business customers. Lewis County also provides an online registration option for participants planning to attend.
No Overall Paint Limit, but Containers Are Capped at Five Gallons
Lewis County does not list an overall quantity limit for eligible paint brought by household or business customers. Individual containers, however, must hold no more than five gallons.
Paint should remain in properly labeled containers so event staff can identify the material before accepting it.
House Paint, Stains and Varnishes Accepted
Accepted materials include interior and exterior architectural paints, including latex, acrylic, water-based, oil-based and enamel coatings.
The collection will also accept eligible deck and floor coatings, primers, sealers and undercoaters, stains, varnishes, shellacs, single-part lacquers and selected waterproofing products.
Rust-preventative paints, metal coatings and paint intended for lawns and sports fields are also among the eligible materials.
Aerosols, Solvents and Automotive Paints Are Excluded
Aerosol and spray paints will not be accepted. The event also excludes paint thinners, mineral spirits, solvents, deck cleaners, glues, caulking, adhesives, epoxies and other two-part resins.
Automotive and marine coatings, tar and other roofing products, road-marking and certain industrial coatings, cement-based materials and small craft or art paints are also excluded.
Leaking, open or improperly labeled containers should not be brought to the collection.
GreenSheen Will Process Collected Paint for Recycling
GreenSheen Paint will collect eligible material during the event and process suitable paint into recycled paint products.
The collection will operate as a drive-through event. Participants should remain inside their vehicles while staff direct traffic and unload eligible containers.
