Totowa Library to Host Recycling, Freecycle Event Sept. 26

MONTREAL (RecyclingMonster): Residents of Totowa will have an opportunity to recycle, donate and reuse unwanted household items during a community event at the Totowa Public Library on Saturday, September 26.
The Community Freecycle, together with several collection programs, is intended to help residents keep reusable materials out of the waste stream.
Shredding and Donation Collections Run From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A Community Shred Day, held in partnership with Greta Recycling, will operate from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., allowing residents to dispose of unwanted personal documents for secure destruction.
A clothing and footwear collection will run during the same period and will accept usable clothes, shoes and accessories.
Residents can also contribute nonperishable food items for distribution through local food pantries. The Lions Club will collect unwanted eyeglasses and hearing aids from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Community Freecycle Sets 12-Item Household Limit
The Community Freecycle will accept household goods that are still usable. Residents can leave donations between 8 and 10 a.m., while others can select available items from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All donated goods must be clean and in good working condition. Each household may contribute up to 12 items. Oversized or bulky goods will not be accepted.
Participation is limited, and Totowa residents are required to register online before attending.
