SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Lackawanna County announced a series of tire recycling events later this month. The events will be held under the sponsorship of the County environmental sustainability office and the West Nile virus control program.

Sites in Roaring Brook Township, Mayfield, Dickson City, Carbondale, Blakley, and Scranton will host the collections. Tires with rims will cost $10 each, while clean tires will cost $3 and unclean tires will cost $5.

On October 15, 2025, the first collection event will take place at the Roaring Brook Township Maintenance Complex, located at 220 Elmhurst Boulevard, from 4 to 6 p.m., and at the Mayfield Borough Department of Public Works facility on May Street from 3 to 6 p.m.

An additional event is scheduled for October 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dickson City Municipal Building, 901 Enterprise St., and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 15 Enterprise Drive, Carbondale.

Following this, there will be events on October 18 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Blakely Borough Building, 1439 Main St., Peckville, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pavilion at Montage Mountain, 1000 Montage Mountain Road, Scranton.

The remaining events are scheduled for October 21 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Blakely Borough Building and October 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dickson City Municipal Building.
