New Report Outlines Glass Recycling Opportunities in Utah State

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Utah Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control presented the results of a recent study to the Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Interim Committee of the Utah Legislature on Tuesday.

The survey indicated that the Wasatch Front and the vicinity of Momentum Recycling had the highest accessibility to glass recycling. Glass recycling is available curbside and by drop-off in counties like Davis, Salt Lake, Summit, Utah, and Weber.

According to the report, Duchesne, Iron, Juab, Kane, Sanpete, Uintah, and Wasatch counties offer curbside pickup choices. Additionally, Cache, Grand, and Washington counties offer drop-off locations. Neither of these choices are presently accessible in the remaining 14 counties.

Potential adjustments that could increase glass recycling rates are described in the report. First and foremost, it urges the appropriate legislative measures to give the utilization of recycled glass goods top priority. Municipalities should also think about transporting glass garbage to recycling facilities via port locations. Additionally, there needs to be more glass drop-off sites in communities.
