Meridian Township to Host Fall Electronics Recycling Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Fall Electronics Recycling Event is scheduled for Saturday, September 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Meridian Township. The drop-off location is located north of the Meridian Mall (1982 W. Grand River Avenue, Okemos) and is accessible via Central Park Drive. Volunteers and signage will be available to help with e-waste unloading and traffic directions.

The accepted items include televisions, monitors, computers, laptops, printers & scanners, fax machines, keyboards, computer mice, VCRs, DVRs, DVD players, hard drives, satellite boxes, tablets & E-readers, mobile phones, MP3 players, video game consoles, cords and cables, vacuum cleaners, coffee makers, toasters, and microwaves. TVs and monitors will be accepted in return for a donation of $20 each, in cash or check payable to Meridian Township.

Consumers Energy Electric Customers could bring their old working appliances, including air conditioners, dehumidifiers, small refrigerators/freezers and receive a rebate for responsible recycling. They are requested to bring a copy of thier Consumers electric bill.

In the meantime, the event will not accept items such as batteries, smoke detectors, lighting, and large household appliances, said a press release.
