Kenton County Announced Drop-Off Event for Hard-to-Recycle Items


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Kenton County Public Works’ Solid Waste Management Office announced that it will hold drop-off events for County residents at select locations. The participation will be restricted for residents only. These events will collect a wide range of hard-to-recycle items from residents. The dropped-off items will be collected by the Solid Waste Management Office for recycling.

The accepted items include appliances, furniture, yard debris, all electronics with power cord, vehicle and rechargeable batteries, 20lb propane tank, lawn equipment, scrap metal and tires. There will be a fee of $25 per unit for Freon-containing appliances. All lawn equipment must be free of fluids. Also, there will be a limit of 10 tires per residential address.

The event will not accept hazardous materials, pesticides, paint, liquid waste, fire extinguishers, tanks, cylinders, oil and antifreeze, fluorescent bulbs, shingles, junk vehicles, concrete, brick or dirt.

The events scheduled to be held at Kent County Public Works in Independence on April 12th and 13th 8 AM to 4 PM, will accept tires and appliances. However, the events to be held same date and time at Piner Elementary in Morning View will not accept tires and appliances, the press release noted.
