Burlington County Announced Free Paper Shredding Events


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Burlington County announced two free paper shredding events, which will be held at Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex located at 22000 Burlington-Columbus Road in Florence. The first of the two events was held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 9 AM to 1 PM. The second event is scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 5.

The events will allow residents to safely recycle confidential documents including bank and credit card statements, tax returns and other papers with sensitive information, such as account and Social Security information. However, magazines, junk mail, household trash, binders, plastic folders, computer discs and credit cards will not be accepted. The event will also collect clean and dry plastic bubble wrap, plastic shipping mailers and plastic wrap from cases of water as well as the plastic wrap around paper products.

The participation is limited for Burlington County residents, who need to provide identification. There will be a limit of four bags or boxes, with each bag or box limited to 10 pounds each.

The shredding events held last year saw participation of as many as 5,100 residents. The events recycled a total of 73 tons. In addition, the events recycled over 390 pounds of plastic wrap and film materials.
