IDEM Announced Grant Funding Up To $100K for Recycling


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) announced availability of grant funding up to $100,000 for recycling and household hazardous waste collection and disposal.

The funds are made available under the IDEM’s Community Recycling Grant Recycling Program (CRGP). The Program is being funded through IDEM’s Solid Waste Management Fund.

IDEM invited counties, municipalities, solid waste management districts, universities, schools and non-profit organizations to submit applications to avail grant funding ranging from $1,000 to $100,000. The CRGP will start accepting applications from 21st August, 2023. The last date for submitting application is 29th September, 2023.

The projects must focus on educating and promoting recycling, processing of recyclable materials, reducing waste and household waste and managing organic waste including yard waste and composting. The applicant must demonstrate direct or indirect increase in volume of diverted waste as a result of the project.

Brian Rockensuess, Commissioner, IDEM said that it is proud to partner with communities to boost recycling efforts. The grants will support innovative ideas and programs that enhance recycling and make it more cost-effective for its residents.
