IDEM Announced $2 Million in Grant Funds for Recycling


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) announced that it has awarded $2 million in grant funding to as many as eight organizations through its Recycling Market Development Program.

The news release by IDEM stated that the grants are aimed at helping these organizations towards expanding recycling efforts throughout the state, primarily towards strengthening its state’s private and public recycling infrastructure. It will boost recycling of residential, commercial, and industrial recyclables by almost 117,000 tons per year, the news release said.

CT Polymers, LLC in Marshall County was awarded $300,000 towards purchase of plastic recycling equipment. CW Recycling, LLC in Marion County will get $500,000 to purchase equipment for a new facility. A grant funding of $288,343 was awarded to Exeon Processors, LLC in Grant County towards purchase of separation equipment to produce recycled PVC products.

The other recipients of the grant funding along with the allocated amount are as follows: Floyd County Solid Waste Management District ($52,255), GDC, Inc. in Elkhart County ($98,992), Indiana Shingle Recycling, LLC in Marion County ($360,213), SER North America, LLC. in Madison County ($296,654) and Strategic Materials, Inc. in Marion County ($103,543).
