Hiab Acquires Labrie Environmental Group to Expand North American Waste and Recycling Presence


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Hiab Corporation announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire leading North American manufacturer of refuse collection vehicles, Labrie Environmental Group.

The acquisition will help the company strengthen its position in the North American waste and recycling sector. It will provide Hiab with immediate access to the expanding North American RCV market, in addition to enhancing its presence in the essential waste and recycling industry.

Founded in 1971, Lévis, Quebec-headquartered Labrie Environmental Group enjoys strong market position, operating through Labrie, Wittke, and Leach brands. The company also offers aftermarket parts and services through its LabriePlus brand. It operates four manufacturing facilities in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, employing approximately 1,200 employees.

For the twelve months ending March 2026, Labrie reported sales of approximately USD 491 million. The company’s EBITDA stood at USD 113 million, at a robust EBITDA margin of 23%.

Commenting on the development, Hiab President and CEO Scott Phillips said that the acquisition represents a significant milestone that will strengthen growth, expand service offerings, and generate long-term value for its customers, employees, and shareholders.
