Harrison County Hosted Fifth Annual Christmas Cardboard Recycling Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Harrison County Utility Authority hosted fifth annual Christmas cardboard recycling event.

The event, which collected holiday boxes and cardboard for recycling, was held from 8 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at five locations- D’Iberville Civic Center – 10395 Auto Mall Parkway, D’Iberville, Harrison County Work Center – 10076 Lorraine Road, Gulfport, Long Beach Harbor – Highway 90, Long Beach, Edgewater Mall Parking Lot – 2600 Beach Blvd., Biloxi, West Harrison County Storm Shelter – 15038 County Farm Rd.

The event was held in collaboration with Waste Management. The cardboard collected at the event were transported a recycling facility, where they will be processed into new cardboard and other paper products. Last year, a total of twelve tons of cardboard were collected for recycling from all the five locations.

Rusty Hulett, Solid waste Technician, Harrison County Utility Authority noted that it is committed to educate people on recycling, which has resulted in significant jump in collection of recyclables over the years. He urged all residents to become part of the recycling efforts and assured that all items collected will be properly disposed of, in an environment-friendly manner.
