Fostoria City Ponders New Recycling Program for Residents

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Fostoria, Ohio plans to introduce a new recycling program for its residents, in a bid to limit the volume of materials ending up in landfills.

As per city directive, it intends to offer two new locations where residents will be allowed to drop off their recyclables. The two locations will be areas near the High School’s football field and Foundation Park. These locations will accept a wide range of materials including glass, plastics and paper.

Mayor Eric Keckler hoped that the community will extend full support to the new recycling initiative. He urged residents to keep trash out of recycling and strictly follow the rules laid out by the solid waste district, so that the recycling program turns out to be a huge success. The city plans to provide education within the community to make them aware of best recycling practices, he added.

The discussions regarding the recycling program will continue in the next meeting scheduled to be held after two weeks.

This is not the first time that the city is launching a recycling program. Earlier, it had offered a cardboard recycling program in partnership with the Ottawa, Sandusky, Senaca (OSS) Solid Waste District. However the program was terminated almost a year before as the people started putting trash and other non-acceptable items along with cardboard.
