Clean Earth’s Non-Hazardous Waste Recycling Doubled


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report published by Clean Earth, a part of Enviri Corporation, suggests notable improvement in recycling volumes of hazardous and non-hazardous waste during the previous year. The waste recycling volumes surged by 53% in 2022.

According to the report, Clean Earth recycled 8.7 billion pounds of waste in 2022. The amount of non-hazardous waste recycled by it surged higher by 102% over the previous year. The amount of hazardous waste recycled by it recorded year-on-year increase by 41%. The amount of wastewater recycled by it increased by 84%.

Clean Earth recycled or reused 691million pounds of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, 6.5 billion pounds of contaminated soil, 700 million pounds of dredge, 517 million gallons of wastewater and 265 million gallons of fuel.

Commenting on its future goals, Clean Earth announced that it aims to recycle more than 9 billion pounds of waste during this year. Also, it expects nearly 90% of its revenues to come from its environmental solutions businesses.

Jeff Beswick, President of Clean Earth noted that the company is proud that it recycled the equivalent of almost two million cars last year, by reusing and repurposing hazardous, non-hazardous and contaminated waste, thus preventing them from ending up in landfills.
