City of Moultrie Announced Annual Spring Cleanup Week

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Moultrie announced its decision to hold an annual cleanup week starting April 24. The cleanup event from Monday, April 24, to Friday, April 28 will be held as part of Keep Georgia Beautiful month. The city will sponsor the Annual Spring Cleanup Week in partnership with the Keep America Beautiful’s Great America Cleanup campaign.

Amy Johnson, the City of Moultrie downtown economic development and public relations director announced that residents are required to place items in their normal collection location, which will in turn be collected by city workers during their regular trash pickup schedule. There will be a volume limit of 25 yards per address.

The residents could also arrange for their junk automobiles to be collected by local salvage and wrecker services at no additional cost. The free pick-up services will be only available to the City of Moultrie residents and will not be available to commercial businesses and rental properties.

The City will host an electronic recycling event on Wednesday, April 26, 9AM to 3PM, where residents could drop off their unwanted electronics items to a recycling trailer located at the Georgia State Farmers Market. However, this event will not collect major appliances such as vacuums, refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers, and gas-powered equipment.
