Further of expiry of the existing contract with Kimble on 31st December, 2022, the city had entered into a new five-year contract with it. As per new contract, the monthly rate for limited services were revised to $21.95, whereas that for full service was lifted to $23.95. Also, 30-gallon bag service, plus $4.75 per additional bag costs $8.13 per month.
David Maley, economic development director noted that the new rates are competitive or even slightly lesser, when compared with other service providers. The monthly rate of Republic is around $25, whereas that of waste Management is $32. Moreover, Kimble was the sole bidder for trash services, he noted.
Maley highlighted that the agreement with Kimble will be beneficial for City residents, as the rates are guaranteed for a period of five years. Unlike many other service providers, Kimble’s monthly cost doesn’t have a fuel surcharge. Meantime, the city has the option for five year renewal of the contract with price increase.
