City of Everett Plans Recycling Drive with 65-Ton Diversion Goal

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Everett will host a recycling collection event for residents on April 18, 2026, at the south lot (Lot B) of Everett Station, operating from 9 a.m. until capacity is reached or 3 p.m. The initiative is designed to offer a convenient and environmentally responsible solution for disposing of hard-to-recycle household materials.

Mayor Cassie Franklin highlighted the importance of community participation, stating that such programs play a key role in reducing landfill dependency while promoting long-term environmental sustainability. The city expects the event to divert approximately 65 tons of recyclable waste from landfills.

A wide variety of items will be accepted, including appliances, scrap metal, electronics, tires, mattresses, propane tanks, and bulky wood. Some items will be subject to processing fees, and residents are encouraged to review the official guidelines in advance and bring exact cash payments where required.

Participation is restricted to Snohomish County residents. The event will follow a drive-up-only format for safety, and no vehicles will be allowed entry after 3 p.m. It is partially funded by the Washington State Department of Ecology, supporting regional recycling initiatives.
