SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Fair Haven announced official opening of its newly renovated Department of Public Works and Recycling Center.
The remodeling project took a number of years to finish. Officials had originally intended to construct the DPW facility from the ground up, assuming that the main building would be completely unusable. But after more investigation, it was determined that the structure was in better shape than first thought. The administration decided to remodel the facility as a result.

The refurbished facility will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Sundays it will be closed. A variety of materials will be accepted by the facility, such as cardboard, newspapers, mixed paper, glass and plastic bottles, and aluminum cans.
In collaboration with Monmouth Wire & Computer Recycling Inc., the newly renovated facility provides residents with recycling services for electronic waste. Additionally, residents have the chance to donate unwanted clothing thanks to the partnership with Helpsy.
Tires, construction debris, bulk items, scrap metal, and domestic waste cannot be disposed of at the facility by residents.
