SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Through its participation in the Michigan Green Communities (MGC) Challenge, the City of Coldwater has received esteemed recognition. In appreciation of its numerous sustainability initiatives and environmental leadership projects, it was granted gold certification for exceptional conduct in a number of categories.
A record number of villages participated in this year's challenge, and two received platinum certification, 42 received gold, 18 received silver, and six received bronze.

Energy-efficient lighting has been installed in the city's parking lots, streets, and municipal buildings. It offered its homeowners free yearly household hazardous trash drop-off and free standard recycling pickup. It also set up facilities for public EV charging at handy places.
A purchase local campaign and a green pricing program are two of the City's other creative and distinctive initiatives.
According to Monica McCowan, CBPU Energy Waste Reduction/Key Accounts Coordinator, the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities and the City of Coldwater have been collaborating to meet its sustainability objectives. McCowan emphasized chances to make concrete progress toward earlier energy and climate goals.
