SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Save That Stuff, a well-known hauler and recycler in Massachusetts, was acquired by Casella Waste Systems, a company based in Vermont. The transaction's financial specifics were not made public.
President Erik Levy founded Save That Stuff in 1990. The organization has a 100,000-square-foot warehouse in Boston and a fleet of about 36 heavy-duty vehicles that it uses to serve the Greater Boston area.
Under a lease, WM's organics recycling facility is also located on the Boston campus. The agreement will still apply to the facility's operations.

According to a Casella news release, Levy and his whole team have joined the company as part of the deal. Additionally, it sets up the business for sustained expansion in the region.
According to Jeff Weld, vice president of communications at Casella, Save That Stuff fits in nicely with the company's core skills. Furthermore, Casella's basic values are in line with the business culture that has been developed over the previous 35 years. He went on to say that the purchase will give both companies' current hauling clients more effective service.
Through substantial acquisitions in recent years, Casella Waste Systems has experienced significant growth. Additionally, the business has extended into mid-Atlantic regions. Through the third quarter of last year, it is estimated to have spent almost $260 million on acquisitions.
