The new facility will take the place of the Sterling Park Community Recycling Center, which was permanently shuttered in September of last year due to Park View High School renovations.
Like the other public recycling facilities in the county, the new Sterling Recycling Center will take a variety of commodities, such as cardboard, paper, cans, jugs, jars, and glass and plastic bottles.
Paper shredding will not be available at the County recycle center. Residents are encouraged to get in touch with nearby document destruction and paper shredding service providers for these services. Additionally, plastic bags won't be allowed.
Reusable items are urged to be donated to donation centers by locals and companies. Additionally, individuals are encouraged to contact the nonprofit Freecycle if they would like to donate or receive items for free.
