SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Residents of Burien and Normandy Park will have an opportunity to responsibly dispose of recyclable materials during the annual Spring Recycling Event scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center, located at 19010 1st Avenue South, Burien, WA 98148.
The popular community recycling initiative allows local residents to safely recycle a variety of accepted items while helping reduce landfill waste and promote environmental sustainability. Organizers have advised attendees to review official event guidelines and reference materials to confirm which items will and will not be accepted before arriving at the site.
Funding for the event is provided through support from the Washington State Department of Ecology Local Solid Waste Financial Assistance Program, the King County Solid Waste Division, the Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County, and E-Cycle Washington.
The annual event highlights the region’s continued commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable waste management. Residents are encouraged to arrive early and follow all event instructions to ensure smooth recycling drop-off operations.
