SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): A free e-waste collection event will provide Barton County residents with an opportunity to safely recycle thier unwanted electronics.
During the event, residents will be able to dispose of a wide range of electronic devices, including computers, televisions, appliances, cables, stereo equipment, office equipment, batteries and cell phones at no charge.
The Region M Waste Management District has partnered with the Barton County Library to host the event from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30 at the library located on West 10th Street. Region M organizes the events twice each year across Southwest Missouri to encourage responsible disposal of electronic waste and reduce landfill volumes.
The collection and processing operations at the event will be overseen by the leading electronics recycling company, Noble Earth Recovery. The company will be responsible for properly sorting and recycling the collected devices. Also, necessary devices will be destroyed to ensure sensitive data protection.
In the meantime, residents are advised to factory reset devices and disconnect cloud accounts before taking them to the recycling event.
The initiative is expected to support environmental sustainability and promote public awareness about safe and responsible recycling practices.
