Westmont to Host Electronics and More Recycling Event

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Westmont Environmental Improvement Committee (EIC) will host Electronics and More Recycling event on 23rd September, 2023 8 AM to 12 Noon. The event will be held at the commuter parking lot in front of the Westmont Village Hall, 31 W. Quincy St.

EIC will partner with eWorks, Flat Can Recycling and DuPage County to host the event, which is expected to provide residents with a unique opportunity to dispose of their unwanted electronics and other items, which would otherwise end up in landfills. The event is open to residential customers. Commercial customers are not allowed to participate in the event, EIC press release noted.

Almost all electronics items will be accepted at no cost. However, there will be a fee for televisions and computer monitors. There will be no fee for textiles, clothing and shoes, books, magazines, paper, cardboard and Styrofoam.

There will be a recycling fee for aerosol cans, one-pound camping propane tanks, household batteries, infant and children car seats and latex paints.

Participants will only have to stay in their vehicles, while the staff and volunteers will offload the recyclable items. After offloading the items, participants are required to exit the lot through the west entrance of the parking lot.
