Vanguard Renewables Acquires E-Z Recycling to Expand Midwest Organics Recycling Network

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Vanguard Renewables has expanded its Midwest footprint with the acquisition of E-Z Recycling, a Minnesota-based food and beverage waste recycling firm, strengthening its integrated organics recycling and renewable energy platform.

The deal adds advanced depackaging capabilities to Vanguard’s anaerobic digestion network, enhancing its ability to convert food waste into renewable natural gas (RNG) while helping customers improve regulatory compliance, reduce operational risk, and meet sustainability targets.

Minnesota remains a strategic market due to its strong food and beverage manufacturing base and landfill diversion policies. Vanguard already operates an anaerobic digestion facility in the Minneapolis–St. Paul region and recently announced a second project in Meeker County in partnership with CenterPoint Energy to supply RNG into local energy systems.

E-Z Recycling’s St. Paul facility processes up to 125 tons of food and beverage waste daily across three lines, with upgrades set to lift capacity beyond 300 tons per day. The site offers secure product destruction, material recovery, and documented chain-of-custody services. Executives from both companies said the acquisition advances a circular economy model and expands reliable, cost-effective recycling solutions across the Midwest.
