SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Meridian Waste Virginia, LLC has announced the asset acquisition of Richardson Waste Management, LLC, effective February 1, 2026, further strengthening its waste collection footprint across Virginia and North Carolina. The transaction expands Meridian Waste’s roll-off collection operations, creating a stronger service corridor between Christiansburg, Virginia, and Sandy Ridge, North Carolina.
As part of the acquisition, Meridian Waste will assume Richardson Waste’s hauling facility located at 5567 Elk Horn Road in Woodlawn, Virginia. Existing Richardson Waste employees will continue servicing current roll-off customers while supporting Meridian Waste’s expanded service offerings, including frontload and residential waste collection.
The acquisition also supports increased internalization of waste at Meridian Waste’s Gate City Transfer Station in Greensboro, North Carolina, which is scheduled to open in Q1 2026. In addition, the move enables greater route density for roll-off operations throughout southwest Virginia and northcentral North Carolina, improving operational efficiency and service reliability.
Meridian Waste confirmed that customers will experience no service disruptions, and all existing contact information will remain unchanged.
