Utica Fall Weekend Recycling Event to Collect Electronics, Documents and More


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Utica City, New York will host a faal recycling event this weekend. The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023 10AM-2PM at the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority Recycling Center, located at 80 Leland Ave. Extension in Utica. The event is being sponsored by State Senator Joe Griffo and the Solid Waste Authority.

The free event, open to all city residents, will collect wide range of materials including used electronic items, documents and old prescription medicines.

According to authorities, the electronic items accepted during the event include computer equipment, mobile devices and office equipment.

There will be a limit of three boxes per vehicle for confidential documents. The documents will be shredded on-site in collaboration with ConfiData. The documents will be securely shredded, which means that they will not have to remove name or other personal information before taking them to site for recycling.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will collect unused and discarded medication and pharmaceuticals including prescription liquids, pills or powders, over-the-counter medications, vitamins and supplements, and pet medications for proper disposal.
