Union County to Hold Final Scrap Metal Recycling Event of 2025

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Union County has announced its final scrap metal recycling collection event of the year, set to take place this Saturday, November 15, 2025. The free drop-off event will be held simultaneously at two convenient locations — the Cranford Emergency Services Building at 151 Kenilworth Blvd and Rahway River Park (accessible via Park Drive off St. George’s Avenue) — from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event is open to all Union County residents. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles while county staff safely unload recyclable items.

A wide range of metal household items will be accepted, including refrigerators, air conditioners, bicycles, metal cabinets, appliances, aluminum scrap, and more. For safety reasons, refrigerator doors must be removed before drop-off.

Union County Commissioner Chairwoman Lourdes M. Leon emphasized the environmental importance of the county’s recycling initiatives. “Our annual recycling events have helped reduce landfill waste while giving new life to old, broken, or unused materials. These efforts continue to benefit both our residents and the environment,” she stated.

The 2026 schedule of countywide recycling events is expected to be released by January 1, 2026, officials confirmed.
