SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Roseville's annual neighborhood cleanup program reached a new milestone in 2026, with a record number of residents taking part in community waste collection events.

Organized by Environmental Utilities in partnership with the Roseville Coalition of Neighborhood Associations (RCONA), this year's spring cleanup campaign attracted 2,191 vehicles across four collection events. Residents used the service to safely dispose of bulky household items, including old furniture, appliances, and other materials that cannot be placed in regular curbside waste bins.

The initiative delivered significant environmental benefits. Organizers collected 166.83 tons of general waste, along with 11.4 tons of electronic wasteto be reponsibly recycled. In addition, 3.11 tons of mattresses were diverted from landfills.

Public participation has increased steadily over the past four years. Attendance rose from 1,374 vehicles in 2023 to 1,569 in 2024, 1,802 in 2025, and reached a new high of 2,191 vehicles in 2026. The St. John's neighborhood recorded the strongest turnout, welcoming 604 vehicles, the highest attendance ever achieved at a single cleanup event.

The continued growth in participation reflects increasing public awareness of responsible waste management and environmental protection.

The success of the annual cleanup events was made possible through the combined efforts of Environmental Utilities, RCONA, city staff, and dedicated volunteers.
