SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Republic Services has raised its full-year 2026 financial outlook after reporting robust second-quarter results. The quarterly results saw a big boost, driven byhigher commodity prices, improving commodity markets and contributions from recent acquisitions.

The company generated $4.4 billion in revenue during the second quarter, up 4.6% from a year earlier. Net income increased 2.9% to $566 million, while adjusted EBITDA climbed 4.6% to $1.4 billion.

Commodity prices averaged $136 per ton in the quarter, below the $149 recorded a year earlier. However, recycling processing and commodity sales increased by $8 million to $122 million. Also, higher volumes helped offset weaker prices.

Republic Services now expects commodity prices to average about $140 per ton during the remainder of 2026. It expects 2026 revenue of $17.2 billion to $17.3 billion, while adjusted EBITDA is projected at $5.525 billion to $5.55 billion. Also, M&A contributions are expected to reach $1.2 billion.

The company noted that construction of its third polymer center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, is progressing, with the facility expected to open early next year. Additionally, it plans to expand its electric collection fleet to around 300 vehicles by the end of the current year.
