SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Republic Services has named a senior leader to a prominent national role in the composting industry, with Chris Seney elected as President of the U.S. Composting Council (USCC) Executive Committee for the 2026 term. The appointment places Seney at the forefront of efforts to expand organics recycling and strengthen composting infrastructure across the country.
Seney currently serves as Director of Organics Operations at Republic Services, where he has spent the last eight years guiding the company’s nationwide organics strategy. His responsibilities include developing new composting facilities, supporting municipal diversion programs, and scaling systems that convert organic waste into marketable compost products.
In his new capacity, Seney is expected to work closely with policymakers, municipalities, and private-sector stakeholders to promote standards and policies that accelerate adoption of organics recycling programs.
In addition to his USCC leadership, Seney serves on the Board of the Association of Compost Producers. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds Hazardous Materials Manager certification, reinforcing his emphasis on safety, compliance, and operational rigor within the organics sector.
