Recyclops to restore curbside recycling in Clarksville

Recyclops, a tech startup that brings recycling to new areas, has announced its at-home recycling pickup program to Clarksville residents for the first time since July 2020. Pending city approval, Recyclops will provide access to weekly or every-other-week at-home recycling pickup.

Recyclops contracts local independent drivers to pick up recyclable materials and drop them at the nearest recycling facility eliminating the need for large garbage trucks. This reduces carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, creates local jobs by contracting drivers and provides recycling services to residents at an affordable price.

“In 2020, city officials had to make the tough decision to suspend recycling services due to the budget constraints and cross-contamination,” said Ryan Smith, founder and CEO of Recyclops.

"Recycling has become increasingly challenging for many municipalities. For more than a year, the only option for Clarksville residents to continue recycling has been to drop off recycling at a designated station near City Hall. Our mission is to ensure communities like Clarksville have access to convenient sustainable solutions—starting with at-home recycling. We’re looking forward to bringing curbside back to residents here,” Smith said.

Recyclops’ recycling program will need 100 residents to sign up for the service—which starts at $12 per month—before the program can officially launch.

Recyclops is looking for local-area drivers to complete recycling pickup routes. To learn more or sign up as a driver, visit https://recyclops.com/drivers/.
