SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): For its citizens, the City of Prosser, Washington is thinking about implementing a new curbside recycling program. Residents will be asked to apply for the optional subscription-based scheme through the City.
The program will be implemented in collaboration with Basin Disposal, Inc. (BDI), which will provide participating customers with a separate recycling container, according to the City website. The 96-gallon recycling containers will be emptied every other week and will be easily identifiable to Grow thanks to their blue lids.

The new recycling program will be open to residential clients of the City who have an active garbage account. Only once 400 or more residential users have signed up will the program be introduced. Additionally, consumers are obligated to maintain their service for a minimum of one year after signing up and are not permitted to cancel at any moment. If someone wants to cancel, they must notify the City at least 30 days before the one-year commitment expires.
The City will not proceed with the program if the minimal level of participation is not reached. In addition to the current waste rate, the initiative would cost an extra $24 a month if it were implemented.
Cardboard, mixed paper, metal, and tin cans could all be disposed of in the recycling receptacle by the locals. Glass and plastic, however, are unacceptable.
