SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): In North Arlington, New Jersey, Interstate Waste Services (IWS) has announced the opening of its new MRF. This year's February opening of the new $30 million facility will handle recycling streams from residential and business clients in the New York City region.
The most cutting-edge MRF has the newest amenities, such as glass sorting machines, optical sorters, and Machinex AI-enabled robots, which ensure the most effective sorting of a variety of materials. According to a press release from Machinex, it also has a number of ballistic separators and screens for OCC and fines.

IWS will be able to internalize recycling capabilities thanks to the MRF. The business used to send recycled materials to other businesses' MRFs.
According to Mike DiBella, CEO of IWS, the new MRF's size-separation equipment and glass breakers will assist the plant process glass and sell it to customers in the surrounding area, including Pennsylvania.
The MRF is housed at a converted transfer station in a 45,000-square-foot building. It also has a 17,000-square-foot structure for storing bales. The facility's architecture enables it to manage expectedly increased material volumes. There are about 25 workers at the facility.
