Ogle County to Host Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Ogle County Solid Waste Management Department announced that it will host a residential electronics recycling and paper shredding event at the Solid Waste Management Department, 909 Pines Road. The event will be held from 9 AM to 4 PM Friday, January 27th, 2023. The event is open only for Ogle County residents, said the press release.

In order to recycle your electronics for free, a permit will be required in advance. The permit could be obtained by contacting the Department at 815-732-4020 or by email at solidwaste@oglecountyil.gov, by providing your name, street address, town, phone number, and/or email address.

The event will accept a wide range of electronic items including televisions, computer monitors, computers, computer hardware and cables, laptops, tablets, cell phones, printers, FAX machines, scanners, shredders, copiers, video gaming equipment, DVD players and VCR’s, cable and satellite boxes, stereo equipment, radios, digital clocks, cameras, calculators, phone systems, holiday light strands, extension cords, rechargeable batteries, printer ink cartridges, CD’s and DVD’s, and CFL bulbs. Meantime, microwave ovens will be charged $5 per unit.

There will be a limit of seven large items. Smaller items may be placed in a box to be counted as one item.
