Mack to Invest in Expanding Roanoke Valley Operations Facility


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Mack Trucks has announced investment of $14.5 million towards expanding its Roanoke Valley Operations manufacturing facility. The proposed expansion will help the company to grow significantly in the strategic market segment and boost its sustainability goals. The announcement was made during a meeting with the officials of state and local authorities.

The construction works are slated to begin in April this year. The project is expected to be completed in Q4 2025.

The expansion project has already received a grant of $255,000 from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund. In addition, it will receive a package of investments totalling $842,420 from the County. The company will receive state benefits from the Major Business Facility Job Tax Credit in return for creation of full-time jobs at the facility. The employee training activities will be supported by the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.

The expansion will add 72,000 square foot to the existing facility, thus making it a 352,000 square foot facility.

Stephen Roy, global president of Mack Trucks stated that the customer demand for the Mack MD and MD Electric has been witnessing tremendous growth. The expansion will position the company for a better future, he said.
